Update: 16th April, 2021:

Unfortunately, another update is required because of poor business practices by a competitor. This time, it appears to be The TEFL Academy. One of their employees, a Brand Ambassador, has written on her commercial website (where she promotes The TEFL Academy courses) that TEFL Online Pro is not accredited and should, therefore, be avoided.

TEFL Online Pro is fully accredited and internationally recognized.

Update: 29th July, 2020:

We need to make readers aware that TEFL Online Pro have recently been on the receiving end of online attacks from a business competitor: Ian Leahy, from ESLinsider. Ian has been publishing misleading content online — hoping to discredit TEFL Online Pro, and redirect people to his school website.

We are not the only Online TEFL/TESOL certification course to receive unwanted attention from Ian Leahy. Pick any Online TEFL/TESOL certification course program and Ian will have written some trash about it on his school blog, YouTube/Vimeo channel, Reddit, Quora, etc.

We felt the need to write this notice because Ian tries to project an altruistic image and some people, who might not understand his hidden agenda, could unknowingly find themselves swayed by his arguments.

Thank you for reading the above notice. We hope that you enjoy reading through this article:

One of the ways with which you can decide whether an Online TEFL/TESOL certification course program is legit, is to look at student feedback.

And by student feedback, we mean real student feedback.

Online TEFL/TESOL certification course reviews are only valid if they are real.

The other day, while I was taking a brief look at the reviews of one of our competitors, I noticed that they had an average of one review per month. And yet, last month, they received a whole load of reviews within a very short space of time. How could this be? Perhaps they were just extremely busy that month? I took a quick glance and saw that they had received a pretty brutal review of their program in the middle of the month and then there came a flurry of ten reviews — all giving the program five stars.

It doesn’t take a genius to work out that the negative review was real and that the proceeding bomb blast of positive reviews was highly likely written by the school in order to try to hide that one negative review.

Unfortunately, this is a major issue these days. And it’s exasperated by some website directories that offer TEFL/TESOL schools a listing on their site in exchange for a commission of sales made through links on their website.

Fake reviews are prevalent on websites that operate on a commission system.

When we began tefl online pro, we decided that we wouldn’t list our school on websites that took a chunk of commission when someone clicked on a TEFL/TESOL school’s link and who then went on to purchase a course from that TEFL/TESOL school, for the website to then receive their commission. It just didn’t sit well for us. It felt clearly immoral and ethically corrupt.

So if you are searching for reviews of Online TEFL/TESOL certification course programs, you should be aware that this is how a lot of schools operate.

But where is the harm in this?

The harm is that it makes much better business sense for the websites who receive a commission through this affiliate marketing business model, to encourage fake reviews and delete negative reviews. If an Online TEFL/TESO certification school listed on their website has lots of positive reviews, a potential customer will likely be swayed into purchasing the course and this results in a win/win for both the Online TEFL/TESOL certification school and for the website collecting the commission. But it might end in a fail/fail for the customer when they receive subpar training and when they discover down the road that the certification they have on their resume is pretty much worthless.

Rated №1 Online TEFL/TESOL International Certification Course Program in 2020.

How often do you purchase something and then write a review of that product or service? The reality is that, in general, people are not review-writing obsessives and if 100 people take an Online TEFL/TESOL certification course, just a couple will actually leave a review when they are satisfied with their experience.

There is a famous saying which goes along the lines that a customer who has had a good experience might tell one or two people, but a customer who has had a bad experience will over one hundred. And this is no different for the Online TEFL/TESOL certification course industry.

At tefl online pro, we welcome both positive and negative reviews.

Here is one example of a negative review of our international TEFL/TESOL certification course program on a reviews website that doesn’t follow the affiliate marketing model:

Here is one example of a positive review of our international TEFL/TESOL certification course program on a reviews website that doesn’t follow the affiliate marketing model:

And of course, you can read further reviews in other pockets of the internet, including on our Facebook page:

And also, on a website which we set up, in response to some ridiculous accusations made online by one of our (notoriously aggressive) competitors:

And finally :) here are a few other TEFL Online Pro Reviews video testimonials, recorded by recent TEFL Online Pro course graduates:

Annelise | Teaching in Austria

Annelise, from the USA, gives her TEFL Online Pro review of the 120-Hour Professional Online TEFL/TESOL international certification course.

Nico | 140-Hour Hybrid

Nico, a recent graduate, provides his TEFL Online Pro review of the 140-Hour Hybrid international TEFL/TESOL certification course.

Alison | Teaching Entrepreneurship

Alison, from the UK, is a recent course graduate. This is her TEFL Online Pro review of the 120-Hour Professional Online TEFL/TESOL international certification course.

So, yes, tefl online pro is legit. In fact, quite a few Online TEFL/TESOL certification programs are also legit. But do be wary of any program that tries to hide a negative review by suddenly adding a whole load of positive reviews, because they probably are not legit.

Kind regards,

Paul Murphy — Operations Manager
